and  Parish Erection 

St. Basil Malankara Catholic Mission is a part of the Syro-Malankara Catholic, Archiepiscopal Church (A Church in full communion with the Holy Father the Pope of Rome). The Mission is located in the Immaculate Conception Center, Douglaston, Queens, New York for the faithful Malankarites in the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn from Kerala, India. Major Arch Bishop Moan Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos is the Head of the Church and is considered the Catholica Bava of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church. Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Eusebius is the Bishop of the Malankara Catholic Exarchate in North America and Europe.

After 5 months of selfless and dedicated service, Rev. Dr Sunny Mathew was called to pursue his ministerial duties in. The farewell meeting was held on July 10, 2011 after the Holy Mass. Representatives of church organizations in our parish expressed their gratitude and appreciation towards Rev. Fr. Sunny Mathew and Rev. Sr. Ivan. We express our sincere thanks to Rev. Fr. Sunny Mathew and Rev. Sr. Ivan for their dedicated service to our parish.
